How to prepare yourself for procedure
Preparing your semen, ovulation monitoring and calculate the exact time for insemination
Expectations: test your pregnancy after 15-20 days after the IUI procedure.
False negative: if patients hormonal levels are not at measurable
False positive test: if you are using ovulation inducing medicine like HCG,the medication which still circulates in body indicate pregnancy but you may not be pregnant.
Your doctor will advise to return after 2 weeks ,again home kit result for blood test.
The blood test is more sensitive in detecting pregnancy hormone after fertilization. If you do not get pregnant on the first try of IUI, you can carry it again before moving to other fertility treatment.

IUI (Intrauterine insemination)
This procedure is for treating infertility.It is a type of artificial insemination where the sperms are placed in your uterus.
Before placement the semen is washed with scientific method.
It is newer techniqies in older system sperm are placed inside vagina and It is not very effective.

IVF is main treatment for infertility when other method of ART failed.
In this process conception of baby outside the human body. The women egg are stimulated and extracted outside and mixed with sperm in a laboratory environment for fertilization and kept for embryo formation. When embryo formed then they were transferred physically into woman uterus for development and pregnancy.
The IVF procedure takes multiple steps in few weeks.
Stimulating the ovaries: Hormones are mostly given to stimulate the ovaries to produce more than usual one egg per cycle. The development of multiple egg is monitored by ultrasound and lab test and determined the precisely right time to collect the egg.
Collection of eggs: The ultrasound with fine needle introduced through a guide inserted in the vagina which is attached with probe under short general anesthesia. The ultrasound monitor will show the follicle and the needle will pierce the follicle and the extract the follicular fluid containing the egg.
Fertilization and Embryo transfer
In IVF lab egg is fertilized with sperm on workstation and zygote or pre-embryo develop and in two three days embryo develop in incubator which is four cell to eight cells.
Following embryo development two or three embryo will be transferred in uterus using soft fine catheter. This procedure is known as embryo transfer.
It is pain less like other procedures like papsmear test. It require no anesthesia. Two weeks after the transfer, a blood test is taken to determine if the women is pregnant
Mini IVF: Egg stimulation is done by tablet and few injection and collection of egg done by this method.
It is cost effective and less number of days required.
A FET IVF cycle with hormonal support begins at end of previous menstrual cycle .An injection analog preparation as injected in previous to control the cycle and suppress the cycle.
Once cycle is controlled and suppressed and hormone are tested then, estrogen supplements are started and serial ultrasound done to monitor the endometrium. If the progress is normal and the progesterone starts and day 3 or 5 embryo transfer.

It is a procedure where women utilized another women egg rather than their own egg.
Donor egg is required in :
- Women who’s egg is weak and their uterus is strong
- Women who’s menstrual cycle is absent
- Women having congenital / heriditory absence of egg.

FET-IVF procedure : There are two types of FET/IVF cycle. Hormone support cycle and natural cycle.
FET IVF with natural cycle : with natural FET IVF cycle medications are not used to suppress or control ovulation. On the other hand the embryo transfer is performed with natural ovulation.
The moment of embryo transfer is crucial a particular number of days after ovulation must occurs.
Because time is the essence , the cycle is monitored closely at home with ovulation prediction kit is used to confirm ovulation. When ovulation is detected progesterone supplements also started and embryo transfer is scheduled
There is no risk to female in FET as seen mainly OHSS because ovarian stimulation drugs effects ends till than therefore there is no risk of OHSS
With cryopreservation some embryo’s may not survive the freezing and thawing process with elective frozen embryo transfer you may loose available embryo transfer .
