DIET WHILE BREAST FEEDING : .

Doctor recomended that mother breastfed for 1 year. Out of this period. your baby should exclusively be breastfed for 6 month then you can gradually start weaning by slowly introducing your baby for variety of food so that it no longer completely depend on you on the end of year.

Protein requirement during first 6 month of lactation is around 75-80mg /day and during the last 6 month ~70mg/day.

Fat is concentrated source of energy and  only 45mg /day of it is required while you are lactating .Fat is required in moderation to supplement mothers maternal store to ensure optimal secretion of breast milk .

Calcium 1000 mg/day,

IRON 30 mg/day,

FOLIC ACID 150mcg/day ,VITAMIN C 80mg/day, VITAMIN A 3800 mcg/day,VITAMIN D,B12 IC ALSO REQUIRED ,

Add Almond ,subja seeds and fenugreek seeds in small amount as it increases milk production,

Avoid unprescribed drugs ,carbonated drinks ,caffeine ,smoking and drinking alcohol during lactation.

Continue all the medicine adv by your doctor .
